Carmen rioboo
Microbiology Area - Department of Biology
Faculty of Sciences-University of Coruña
Carmen Rioboo has a degree in Biology and a PhD in Environmental Sciences from the University of Coruña, in both cases obtaining an Extraordinary Prize.
She is currently a Contracted Doctor Professor of the Microbiology area at the University of Coruña since 2017, currently teaching in the Bachelor's Degree in Biology and in the Master's Degree in Molecular, Cellular and Genetic Biology. Regarding his research, he focuses on the search for cytotoxicity and genotoxicity biomarkers in toxicity bioassays with microalgae sensitive to the presence of environmentally relevant concentrations of organic micro-pollutants, participating in national research projects and direction of doctoral theses.
Alexandra Correia
Immunobiology Group / Host Interaction and response
Institute for Research and Innovation in Health, Universidade do Porto
Rua Alfredo Allen, 208 | 4200-135 Porto, Portugal
Assistant Professor at ICBAS-University of Porto
Alexandra Correia graduated in Animal Science Engineering and holds an MSc in Agrarian Sciences - Animal Production. She defended her PhD thesis in 2012 at University of Minho, Portugal, addressing Candida albicans virulence factors as vaccination targets against systemic candidiasis. Since then, her research has focused on mucosal vaccination against bovine neosporosis. As a member of the i3S Immunobiology group, she has established a new research line directed to the translation of basic research, mostly done in the murine models, into hosts of veterinary interest. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor of Immunology at ICBAS-University of Porto. Her main research interests concern mucosal vaccination, veterinary immunology, and the interaction between immunity and nutrition, namely the modulation of immunity in livestock through diet supplementation.
Claudia Patricia Urueña Pinzón
Bacteriologist with a PhD in biological sciences from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana
Bacteriologist and Doctor in Biological Sciences from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana with a Post-doctorate in Antitumor Immunity. With professional experience in the clinical, academic, research and teaching areas. Research emphasis on Immunology and Cell Biology of Cancer, antitumor immunity, use and evaluation of drugs with antitumor activity of both natural and synthetic origin. Solid knowledge and experience in handling basic and specialized techniques applied to solve problems related to these areas of knowledge.Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Nursing at Universidad El Bosque, coordinator of the subjects Applied Microbiology and Infectology, with clinical application in areas of knowledge that involve Clinical Microbiology, Immunology and Infectology and Professor Chair of the Faculty of Sciences of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
Alexei Licea Navarro
Department of Biomedical Innovation
Center for Scientific Research and Higher Education of Ensenada, BC
I studied Chemistry Pharmacobiologist at UABC, it could be medicine, it could be biochemist, it was a stepping stone to be able to obtain my master's degree and doctorate in Biotechnology. I did the postgraduate course at the Institute of Biotechnology at UNAM, and the post-doctorate at Scripps Research Institute in the area of Antibody Genetic Engineering. During my academic training, I worked with scorpion toxins and mouse and rabbit antibodies, but when I joined the CICESE Marine Biotechnology group, I had to change my model, and I selected the marine toxins of the Conus snails and the antibodies of the Conus snails. sharks to develop my lines of research. I think this has been one of the most successful academic decisions I have made because they are two types of molecules that are really fascinating for those of us who work with the structure-function relationship of proteins.
