Paul has been active in DNA repair, drug development, cytometry, biochips and imaging for more than 30 years at the MRC Centre in Cambridge, collaborating closely with cytometry pioneer Jim Watson, and at later Cardiff University UK as Chair of Cancer Biology. He has been active in the field of cellular responses to DNA damage and mechanisms of drug resistance. Inventions include novel anticancer drugs & molecular probes including the DRAQ dyes. He is a past president of ISAC – creating the CYTO conference series, initiating CytoInnovation activities and lead organiser for CYTOvirtual2020. Paul is a co-founder of technology companies including Biostatus Ltd & Oncotherics Ltd.
